David Kirk
David Kirk qualified in 1990 with a local firm of Chartered Accountants based in Exeter. In 1992 he left that firm and set up his own practice in Queens Terrace, Exeter. Since then, the firm has grown steadily, relocating a couple of times until ending up in 2005 at the current offices in Barnfield Crescent.
David attributes the growth of the firm to the following key points:
- We give good commercial advice and help our clients make it happen.
- We are very good at saving tax for clients.
- We hardly ever lose clients to other firms.
As well as being a Partner of Kirk Hills, David is also Managing Director of Kirks Insolvency, which has offices across the South West. He is also a non-executive Director and co-founder of Lympstone Manor Ltd, a contemporary country house hotel in Lympstone, Devon. He is also a co-founder and director of Exeter Finance Ltd, a business providing secured business lending.
He is the Finance Director of Exeter Festival of Food and Drink Ltd, a ‘not-for-profit’ organisation that runs a festival in Exeter every year, and recently stepped down after five years as Chairman of the Lord’s Taverners in Devon and Cornwall, a national charity providing funding for sport for disabled and disadvantaged children.
