Adrian Hills
Adrian Hills was brought up in Oxford and trained there with a national firm of Chartered Accountants. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1989 and quickly rose through the ranks to become client manager for the senior partner. This role provided a huge range of experience dealing with small businesses, audits, charities, and management buyouts as well as some more unusual clients.
In 1994 he moved to Devon to become a partner of a small accountancy practice based in Crediton. This practice quickly grew and expanded to an office in Exeter as well as taking on further partners. In 2006 Adrian joined David Kirk and the practice of Kirk Hills was formed.
Adrian sees his key skill as being able to understand owner-managed businesses. His parents operated a business in which Adrian was brought up. Being a partner in Kirk Hills means that he runs his own business which gives him particular insight into the day to day problems that such businesses face. He also understands how to grow a business and develop its potential. However, what all businesses are interested in is reducing their taxation liability – an area where Adrian has over 30 years experience.
Adrian and his wife Angela have three grown up children all of whom have now completed university. He enjoys all sports, playing cricket and golf regularly in the Summer. He also enjoys travelling and family time.
