Kickstart Scheme

The trainee kickstart scheme is a government plan to give young people a work opportunity whilst benefiting employers with the chance to experience fresh faces and fresh ideas from future applicants. The scheme is now open for applications but is currently not available in Northern Ireland.

The scheme will allow employers to give 16-24 year olds vital 6 month work placements.  The government will then reimburse employers the relevant minimum wage, national insurance and pension contributions.

The scheme is also only available to those registered with a Companies House reference number or a Charity Commission number. Furthermore, for those who are a large employer looking at offering 30 or more job placements you have to apply through a nominated representative, such as the local authority or your local chamber of commerce.

Coronavirus/COVID-19 Update

We are still here to help you

We have activated our plan for our team to work remotely as much as possible. The office is still open and there will always be someone on reception in normal working hours but for obvious reasons, the telephone and email are the best way to contact us as we follow the UK Government guidance to reduce contact.

If you have any direct questions about your business and the effects of the virus please get in touch with your usual contact or directly to me david@kirkhills.co.uk or adrian@kirkhills.co.uk
